2 grayling caught with Pheasant Tail nymph. River in good condition with an abundance of small fish and crustaceans.

Fantastic bit of river. Unfortunately I hooked 2 definite barbel and lost them as well as the one I landed.

What a lovely place. The drive to the beat 5 car parking is so pleasant. Fished beats 4 and 5 on a river fining down but still a foot too high for float fishing.
We had 17 chub, 3 barbel and 1 trout(on pellet) mostly on feeder and meat. Some came to pellet.
Saw some salmon anglers who were extremely friendly. Would love to go back when river slightly lower to explore this beautiful stretch.

Another great day following on from the previous week where I had 15 barbel 10 or so chub and three trout. This time the river was on the rise and in flood. I had another 7 barbel to 9 lbs 6 oz. Due to floods I chose to fish the margins with meat or boilies wrapped in paste...
I seen many goosanders unfortunately feeding. I will return superb beat!!

Think I've had enough of pulling up Himalayan balsam reckon it'll be good to get back to my local waters where the variety of rhododendrons, giant hogweed, Jap knotweed, signal crays, mink and Himalayan balsam are getting to be the "norm". if as requested in the last e.mail each visiting angler pulls up the Himalayan balsam near to where their fishing and reports any sightings of any of the above non native flora or fauna then the Wye and Usk doesn't have to become the "norm"

Beautiful day on beautiful water. Excellent beats, well managed and maintained. A nice catch of barbel and chub, with a couple of ten pounders. Highly recommended. Lots of grilse bouncing through, and a few coloured up residents on show. Millstone was full of grilse.
