The fish were caught on drys and wet flys cadis on top and nymph on a dropper. The water was clear. A enjoyable day was had, thank you.

4 Trout

First time on this beat. Lots of variety of water with some lovely dry fly flats, shame it was a cold day which limited the hatches. No fish bigger than 15” but all in great shape, larger fish were feeding on Iron Blues in the tails of the Salmon pools in the evening but were easily spooked.

Lots of fly life and good fishing to both dries and nymphs. Grumpy man in Mill doesn’t seem to understand that anglers are allowed to wade in front of his house!

Cloudy and pleasantly warm. River clear at 6in, lots of fly life and a few fish rising

River at summer low, cool day, fished upstream nymphs as no rise seen, caught a few trout, very pleasant day

Rain in morning, overcast all day but temperature picked up at noon. Usual school holiday dogs in river situation.
Odd LDO hatch and a few rises.

Water low and clear, so had to pick my spots carefully. All but one of the fish were taken between the Bridges, fishing small March Brown nymphs. Best fish was caught at the tail of the pool below the canal bridge, on a size 18 PTN. All fish returned.
Another really enjoyable day on this terrific beat.

5 Trout

Just a few March Browns appeared in the afternoon but small hatches of olives to interest the fish. Fished dries only and fish a bit spooky in the clear glides as quite sunny in between the hailshowers.... We got 2 lovely fish of 2 lb and 2.25 lb on MBs . Strange that we did not witness a single rise on the upper glides between the bridges despite at one stage a good hatch of olives floating down ready to be picked off. First time on this beat and very enjoyable day with kingfishers and kites for company.

Bright sun all day, river crystal clear, 11in on web cam, unpleasant downstream wind.

Sunny first thing, but went very cold with cloud and North wind. Water temp only 7C. Nothing rising.
