Our first time on this stretch. Nice stretch of water, well kept with plenty of accessible swims. Another bright day with the river running low and clear. Although we fished 8 different swims between us apart from a 5.5 lb barbel in the early afternoon we could not locate the barbel.
Enjoyable day all the same.

Hard going probably due to colder weather causing a sudden drop in water temperature.

Heavily overcast, mild, dropping back to normal level, touch of colour, a middle Wye beat virtually to yourself . . . for a barbel angler, a bit like being in heaven really! Actually the fish didn't go mad, just three in total to 7lb with a couple more lost to hook pulls. Neither size nor numbers mattered overmuch today though, it was just perfect to be on the bank of a well-managed fishery, chatting to Monty and enjoying the scenery and wildlife.

Weather conditions were good with cloud cover all day the easterly wind had also dropped significantly. River conditions were OK although could have done with a bit more of a 'push' and a bit more colour. Had two chub early then nothing so made a move at around 3 PM. Started in new swim around 3.30 and immediately started getting some action. knocks on the 1 st cast followed by a barbel on the second closely followed by 3 more. Last fish a few mins before 5pm and no further action until I packed up at 6.30 PM...

Despite baiting & fishing 5 swims in rotation throughout the day with variety of baits & tactics I failed to trouble the "scorer" with no fish landed despite conditions looking good. The fishery is a delight to fish with virtually every swim looking like it has come straight from the pages of Mr Crabtree with glides beneath overhanging trees, gravel runs alongside bulrushes etc and all these swims accessible by steps or cleared paths for which the thanks must go to the fishery manager Monty & his team who also took time out of his day to show me around the fishery and point out the best swims.

First time on this stretch. After a rather disappointing recce of the shallower top section (the Elms), where there were hardly any swims, we had a nice chat with the very helpful Monty and settled on a couple of swims further downstream. They looked absolutely beautiful and very fishy. Unfortunately it was very quiet and despite me moving swims a couple of times it was a bit of a struggle. Mike managed an early barbel and some chub and I eked out a couple of barbel late in the day. A lovely stretch of river and will definitely return when hopefully the fish are a bit hungrier!

Arrived to a falling river level with conditions looking perfect, shame the fish didn't feel the same..!
We fished 6 swims on the downstream stretch using pellet feeder and boilie hook baits, most fish were taken after 4pm. Barbel to 8lb 4oz and chub to 4lb 10oz. A really nice well managed fishery with excellent access throughout.
