Lovely day. The river was a bit low at around 0.7m on the Brecon gauge with blue sky and bright sun all day. Only small numbers of olives hatching. Sporadic rising fish. 10 trout caught on a combination of dry flies (CDC olive emerger) and small beaded nymphs. Thank you WUF for a lovely day.

First time on this beat, parked middle car parking, arrived at 2pm small hatch happening and a couple rising ,hooked up one on pop up emerger and lost.
Tried nymphs/spiders though faster water below poplar pool ,not a bite but a good test for fitness and balance, on hands and knees at one stage!! .Went in faster water around vicarage pool put on a heavy pt nymph and manage a nice 12" trout around 6pm then called it a day.
My mate had a tough day, blame on the lack of chicken and ham pie from Ledbury.
Will be back soon as thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, i'm sure some one who knew what they were doing would have caught a lot more

A few fish started to rise late morning to a hatch of olives. Then a sharp hail shower abruptly stopped the surface activity. The river at .36 on Brecon gauge looked a good height.

River at perfect height having fined down after weeks of rain. Waited all day for hatch that failed to materialised. Say about half a dozen rises all day and none we interested in an artificial. All three of us blanked. Despite this we had a terrific day on a beautiful and varied beat. I'd definitely go back but perhaps a week or so later in the season.

A full day on Fenni Fach, using nymphs. Water still quite heavy, but clear. Caught 4 fish, in shallower places to my surprise. Maybe I should have sunk the nymphs lower in the deeper water....

Cold and damp but a good hatch of olives 1300-1500. Only managed one a dry (jingler) and one on a tungsten orange tag, the rest came on spiders fished down and across the tail of pools, up to 2lb. Hard wading, slippy and uneven.
