Strong wind made it a very hard ,all day. Great hatch of LDO ,few March brown around 1pm,,,but the fish completely ignored them.
All on tungsten nymphs. Low part of beat ,few good pools unfishable due to the trees in the pools are starting to leaf and grow…..be prepared to lose a few flies if trying to fish them. Really needs a bit of maintenance lower half.
Bit off putting tbh for £30 a day.

Nice couple of hours by the river. Caddis fly hatches around mid day. No risers seen and no fish found on nymphs. Had to go by early afternoon so probably missed the best part of the day. Very different above and below the footbridge. Up steam = mainly roll casting + bow and arrow casts to access a lot of the pools and runs. Down stream much more open.

No fish landed today unfortunately. Nice little stretch of river either side of the water treatment works.
Used a tenkara rod with both kebari and merger patterns, all upstream. One small trout went for the merger just upstream of the road bridge towards the bottom of the beat.
