River was very high and fast and the water was very coloured. Fishing conditions were very difficult. Took one Trout in the early afternoon.

River dropping slowly and clearing. Became fishable around 3pm. Then the snow set in! Around 40 minutes fishing. One 12" fish on nymph. Great to be here but not really spring yet. Temperature 1 degree C on return to car!

Lovely spring day but spoiled by FIVE other people poaching on the opposite bank. Two people spinning and three others fly fishing in waders. The fishing was slow with very few rising fish and only a handful caught subsurface. Disappointed that more isn't being done to prevent this.

Lovely to be out but a really tough day. Many pools seemed devoid of fish!

5 Trout

First outing of the year & lovely to be on the river again. Caught & released 3 trout (best around 13") and lost two at the net. Fishing was hard going until 12.30 & all fish were hooked / caught between then & 2.30pm. A very brief hatch of olives (looked like LDO but my entomology is somewhat rusty these days!) at 1pm but not a single rise.

5 on klink and dink and 1 on a sedge. Excellent directions to the beat ... thanks.

Bright and clear day with abundant fly life, but tough fishing.

River was too low for salmon.
