Large grannom hatch more-or-less all day. Some March Browns as well. Water levels low and a lot of algae coming off the bottom and floating downstream. Very few rises but a salmon jumped near me.

Beautiful setting for a day's fishing with a good amount of bird life to watch

6 trout to hand up to 2 1/4lb, all released, with at least 3 times as many hooked and lost. The fish were on grannom with most taking an emerger pattern or a greenish klinkhammer in the faster water.
The river went quiet after about 2.30pm but this was another very nice day on this lovely beat, made all the more enjoyable by what I think was osprey flying overhead in the early afternoon.

Great day - 8 fish from 15 to 19 inches, 3 over 2lbs, 2 of which were just shy of 3lbs. Fishing duo, some caught on dry, some on nymph. A few olive duns around, but was it the grannom the fish were after? All went quiet by 5pm.

40 mile an hour winds, no fish seen or caught.

Note to WUF, why cant the parking be just by the railway bridge before the gate, the amount of slurry you had to drive through was crazy and if the cattle were to be in the field where you parked it would be dangerous.

There is plenty of space to park before the cow field without impeding any of the farmers machinery.

First time on this lovely beat with plenty of fishing variety. A bit chilly but a few rises during the day and managed to hook three on dries and lose them all due to incompetence.

Lovely beat, lots of different areas to fish and stunning weather. A decent hatch around 1130, didn't last long and little evidence of surface feeding. Helen had one fish show interest in dry fly after lunch but otherwise nothing seen.
Beat map could be updated as there is a large island, 100-200m long where the river splits, downstream of the pylons.
Great beat and look forward to visiting again.

2 x trout 16 and 17 inches, DHE and Dai Lewis' March Brown. A lovely sunny day eventually, but a big temperature swing - from a ground frost in hollows to 20 degrees. A very brief March brown hatch about 12.15 to 12.30 provided the opportunity. One good fish lost. Otherwise the river was quiet in bright sunshine. The bed has moved considerably since I was last here - an island seems to have developed.
