First time on this beat. The tail pool, which is the only real "pool" on this beat, doesn't really take a fly well (but for the tail of the tail, which was a nice cast). So spent most of my time in the run below tail to the bottom boundary. Some really nice fly water down there but can't imagine there are many lies but for a few deep holes. Some seriously nice trout moving (at least two upwards of 3 lb) but no salmon about. Would be interesting to fish the tail in high water I think

A beautiful day in a lovely spot, but a disappointing lack of any kind of hatch made it hard going. A 12in wild brown trout towards the end of the afternoon on the dink end of a klink & dink provided at least some reward.

Totally opposite day to the previous day. Really cold and raining and the river starting to rise from all the rain. No hatch to witness. I had a fish of about 1lb on a small streamer pattern but that was it. The difference in temperature seemed to put the fish off and kill the fishing. (so I left mid afternoon). Amazing bird life though with marsh harrier, Red kite, the first swallow and sand martins of the year and an Osprey!

When the clouds cleared the sun came out and it felt like the first day of summer, really warm (too warm for chest waders). I fished the top pool which is really the only pool worth fishing for trout on the beat. First there was a grannon hatch, then march browns and then large yellow stonefly. Had 3 the biggest was 2 lbs on Large dark olive dries and emergers.

Actually trout fishing. Fished nymphs and spiders from 12 until 4 without success. Thin spattering of LDOs at about 1pm, no MBs that I saw, and no rises.

Very hot and bright day - no rises or fish showing, even into the evening. Difficult fishing.

Was meant to fish all day but didn't manage to get to the river until 5. it was overcast and warm but surprisingly little fly about. I had 4 fish up to 1lb weight two on a spent gnat and two on a sedge, all fish were returned safely.
Lovely evening thank you.
