Tough day. The high temperatures have really affected the fishing. Still a pleasure to be out on the water in such lovely surroundings.

The upper part is for more agile fishers. Also the Access points on the map provided are pretty difficult to identify. Would benefit from what3words locations.
Lower part is pleasant. Strong downstream wind again all day. When it finally dropped managed to tempt 1 to a dry fly.
Beware access to lower part across a field. The farmer had unhelpfully put a bull in with some cows. Detour highly recommended in this situation.

What an evening!
A shoal of barbel were sitting above the bridge.
Caught 2 circa 10lb on a GRH nymph.
Great scrap.
Fish went back unharmed and never left the water.
The trout were just starting to rise but I was happy with my catch and just wanted a beer.
Superb banks and fishery.
Fantastic.

After much debate about current conditions we decided to go ahead with the trip, the unexpected but much appreciated cloud cover lasted to past midday. Despite the river being low and clear we managed to winkle a few decent Chub out of the streamer weed but once the cloud had gone it was a waste of time, packed up and on the way home by 7pm. Two others were Eels.

River low and clear. Half a dozen Chub from the streamer weed on meat. The huge bull and his harem with several calves in the first field was a bit unnerving!!.
