11 degrees and beautifully dank when we arrived. We've fished this beat a few times before but have only managed one fish each time. Today the river was still nearly 2 foot up, nice and pacey, and with a tinge of colour, so a bit more promising.
Two fished the woods (4 barbel and a chub) and one in the meadow (1 chub). I had two 9s and Steve a 5 and a 7 on GB feeders and mostly 14mm pellets. It seems to be a very snaggy stretch and needs careful searching with a bomb to find reasonably clear patches. Even then be prepared to lose gear. Also the banks down to the swims are quite steep and very tricky after rain so a rope and cleats are essential. But all in all, a satisfying day.
Despite the flush

Arrived early with some light rain but the river looked good with some good flow.
Fishing pellets on an open feeder I was soon getting bites and enjoyed a busy session catching chub and barbel.
Biggest chub 4lb and barbel up to 6lb.

River was too high to be fishable but gradually dropping, almost at a good height by 3pm. One pull, probably a grayling, but nothing brought to net despite using a team of three heavy nymphs
