Great kick start to the season. The work that has been put into preparing the swims is outstanding. Easy access and well kept. Fish taken on small cubes of garlic salt bacon grill from the bottom swim. Met a nice chap fishing also where there was some confusion over the Creel section. Might be a good idea for Creel to show better signage on both banks. Will definitely be returning soon!

No fish landed. Water level low and clear. Very ittle activity on the surface which stopped completely when fishing started. Tried Parachute Adams on the surface and a weighted PTN on the bottom.
However, lovley day, the kingfisher passed by several times, a barn owl flew over the river and landed in a tree to have a look at me and a Mink appeared under the road bridge too!

Water still perhaps a bit high and slightly coloured for trout fishing, so action was a bit slow in most catches.
The only take in the Leaning Willow pool produced a lovely fish of over 2lb, but the others were modest in size.
Nice to see grayling in numbers for the first time this season. A fair number of others wriggled off.
This famous old Wye beat is looking a bit worse for wear now, with the numerous concealed pot holes in the overgrown paths posing a risk, and ferns over head height in places. It would be nice if the hut had a spruce up as well.
Hopefully the new owners have a plan.
