Full on grannom hatch for a couple of hours despite a cold downstream wind, managed to miss the majority of fish or have a brief on/off but ended with three for the day which was a great result considering the conditions.

A strong and cold wind made this very tough to fish. There was a very good hatch of LDOs with one or two risers. Our fish came to dries and spiders. I lost a cracker at the net. Just a note to say that access to this beat is pretty awful.

Fishing Passport Note : The new fishery owner has put plans in place to improve the access.

Beat:The Severn Arms Ithon - Beat 1

Fishing:Trout (River)

Cold, misty start with a bit of wind about, so not loads happening early on. Started off fishing nymphs through the deeper runs and picked up 1 brown on an olive nymph. As the day went on there was a bit of a hatch coming off, so switched over to a grey dry (not 100% on the pattern but it was close to what was coming off) and that did the trick.

Finished up with 3 trout and 1 grayling taking the dry once they started looking up.

Nothing hectic, but a really enjoyable session and good to see a bit of surface activity later on ?

Stayed in Hut in Llanbadarn Fynydd - Airbnb - parking @ Severn Arms hotel for this stretch was a 20 min drive.

Hooked and lost a few. Bitterly cold with strong winds. I only fished 2 hours. Fly fishing restricted around lake with high water levels. Banks need clearing.
