A fine 8.5 barbel was first of the day on trout pellet . Small chub on meat . Two larger chub , biggest @3.5lb on boiles. Fishing up stream just below the water works

Much colder than we expected! Few fish rising and little fly life. The others were dace … lots of them in the margins. All fish on dries … strong and safely returned. Interesting variations in colouration of the trout… best 14”
