Caught a rainbow trout at the end of the reservoir near the visitor centre. We were using spinners which meant we couldn't fish the rivers, but the reservoir was great. We fished at a few different spot one each side, but only lucky near the visitor centre.

We travelled from Pontneddfechan where we were staying. The fishing passport was really helpful in helping us find somewhere we could fish. Kids were gutted we couldn't fish the river but we don't fly fish and didn't have what was needed for worm.

Nonetheless the boys enjoyed and at least we caught 1!

The best fly hatch -- of March Browns and especially LDOs I've see so far this season. yet despite a decent hatch and cloudy conditions I only managed to rise one fish, which promptly got off. This was another day witha decent hatch but no rises to naturals. River temperature 10C; water clear. Don't you love a mystery?
Good variety of water. Access much improved.

Cold day but two misses and one to a black leech. Gate code doesn’t match that in the information delivered so had a walk in and out!

Fishing Passport Note : We did not know at the time that the code had changed. The landowner has since informed us and the beat details have been updated.

Two fish caught and returned on partridge & Orange spider from the bottom of the beat.

There was a big hatch of March Browns about 13:00 in the top glides of the beat but only a couple of fish on the far bank rising to them. A cold westerly wind picked up in the afternoon and put pay to the fishing .
