Access to river difficult due to high bank and cattle fence also surprised to see so much rubbish in the river (old tyres and farming plastic bags). Very little action during the day but I managed to catch 3 very small trout in the evening. I think £25 is overpriced for this sort of fishing.

River so low and crystal clear. Not a fish to be seen. Please, a little rain for both the garden and fiver!

Lots of surface action but, a very bright day with too much sunshine. The water was very still and I spent most of the day stalking into fish that, as soon as I had got into casting range they appeared to telpathically know about it and were no longer to be seen. When only moments before they had been rising like metronomes!!

An awesome, unforgettable day.

A smattering of mayfly in the morning and early evening. Heavy sedge hatch about 11.30. I fished the rest of the day with a small deer hair sedge pattern which seemed to do the trick. I managed to apprehend a few trout but, had the opportunity to catch many, had I been a bit craftier/been able to teleport/not been outfoxed by a creature with a brain the size of my thumb.

Big fish water. I did see one ginormous old bird that will haunt my dreams. She was almost uncatchable as her lie was within a tree root and a log pile. I spent 2 hours trying to get a good drift over her and finally got her to rise to a size 22 IBD imitation (having tried most everything else in my flyboxes), I struck, ready to try and wrestle her out of the tree roots but, did not even prick her! I will be back very soon to give her another go!!

The Fishing passport is an awesome scheme and so easy to book last minute - for those as disorganised as me.

Thanks to all involved.

Wet spider initially, one take but no connection. Changed to dry fly as there was some fly on the water. There was some Grannon hatching and a few Olives. There was an intermittent rise, most of it on the smoother water. A lovely beat to fish and a thoroughly enjoyable day out. Good wading and lots of wildlife to see. Definitely worth another visit.

Hot sunny day but also one of those days when nothing seems to go right! Tangles, miscasts and not a fish to be seen. Tried everything from deep fished nymphs to dries. The only naturals in any number were hawthorns but nothing rising.

Having said all that it was still an enjoyable few hours especially standing in the cold river while the sun beat down.
