Caught nothing either on nymphs or streamer. The water was too high and way too colored. I left after 3 hopeless hours, it was a waste of time (and money). Should we be warned when the water is in such a state in the middle of summer ?
Is the wash-off policy working for this ? Please advise
WUF note: Wash off policy applies to this beat and is granted in this occasion. Please keep and eye on the webcams when there is rain around.

Nil catch. One salmon seen move in Bathing Pool after I had fished through, it was hard on the left bank in the slow water past the hot spot. Fished through the pool again working the fly and hooked a fish, unfortunately parted company after a short fight.

Arrived at Ty-Newydd around 2pm and the river was still running high at around 2'9" on the Llanstephen gauge and with only a couple of inches visability. Fished for a few hours with the fly but no touches. Saw one grilse move in Bathing Pool and the third rod saw a bigger fish jump in Green Bank but that was it. Looked like it would fish in another 24-48 hours.

Lovely beat but unfortunately the rain in the morning had coloured the water downstream of the brook near the top of the beat. Managed to catch one WBT of about 9inches which was safely returned upstream of said brook.

Fished Ty Newydd from 10am until 5pm. 3 brown trout to three quarters of a pound and 4 grayling to a pound and and a quater. All returned. Conditions looked quite good, but there was very little fly-life and therefore hardly any sign of surface activity. I flung all my favourite flies into my favourite spots with little success. Most of the fish fell for a size 16 black spider in the streamier runs. I also saw salmon showing in two of the pools.
