No fish caught, low water, hot day

A nice fish of one and a half pounds caught on a dry fly at the top of the best mid morning

Largest Grayling circa 2lb, larget trout 1.5lb. All caught on heavy nymphs in the channels.

The Wye was low and clear, on a day that started cool and cloudy but became sunny and quite warm. There was quite a lot of fly life, but no major hatches. I saw about half a dozen rises all day; so limited feeding activity. In summary, conditions were difficult.
I caught three trout (2 x 10", 1 x 12"). Adams (14), CDC comparadun (14). Upstream nymphing was unproductive.
I wasn't quite sure where to park. The instructions are slightly out of date.
As always, a lovely beat, with plenty of fishable water.

Low water and bright all week, but a good hatch in the evening which brought my first ever grayling, what a beautiful fish just under 1 lb, on a black gnat. A few other small brownies all safely returned. What a lovely spot on the Wye.
