River in good order, weather sunny but with a horrible downstream wind that made fishing awkward and probably kept flylife down. Not many fish showing but a salmon did leap a couple of times at the start of the large shingle. WBT & Grayling taken on deep nymphs and salmon parr on a spider.
Thanks to all at WUF for providing another great place to enjoy.

1 Trout, 3 Grayling, 1 Other

It was a fantastic day. I started just above the cottage and caught (dry fly) there few trout around 8 inches. I tried nymph, but nothing.
Then I moved forward on a place where I caught a grayling a few days before. The weather was quite perfect, cloudy with a gentle breeze. Then I start dry fly and caught many graylings, all around 10 and 12 inches, with many missed. It was a really good afternoon. I even caught one on nymph (just for a test), and one trout also around 8/10 inches.

Low water, clear. Biggest trout 9 inches. My friend lost his battle with a salmon at the bottom of the beat on size 4 line while chasing little trout. He said there are no big fish in these waters. All fish on deep polish nymph. Other fish were twait shad, if I'm not wrong, sort of 2 lb sardines, very good fighters. Late surface activity started after 9pm when we just finished for the day. All returned. Next time. Thanks.

No fish caught but a fantastic day out in the most stunning setting.

Just some small fishes, the best trout was around 12 inches.

10 Trout, 1 Grayling

Beautiful day, beautiful beat but no fish! Plenty of life around, mayfly and and hawthorne rising but very little movement at the surface. Saw a fine sized salmon around 10lb leap straight up out of the river as we arrived and then again as we came back after lunch! Wonder if this is a strategy from the WUF to keep us keen?
After only a couple of nibbles with single imitations on the surface we tried out the Kink and dink for the first time and within 10 mins I pulled in a baby brownie from the kink and a large 1.5 - 2lb grayling on the dink both successfully sent back for another day!
Otherwise, not a nibble, though this could have been caused by the over energetic first castings of my 8 year old son scaring all life away?

Nil return

Two trout caught and released. The strong downstream wind made presenting a fly upstream well almost impossible on most of the water. A couple of sheltered spots at the bottom of the fishery saw one of the few rising fish caught on a Greenwell dry and another caught on a weighted Hares Ear. The wind dropped off at the end of the day and transformed the river totally making it look a good place to fish, a real shame it was so late in the day.

No luck with Salmon. Switched to trout when they started rising to a small hatch. Landed one. Missed others. Nice day.

Began fishing around noon with a cold wind blowing upstream. River still low and few fish showing despite sporadic hatches during the afternoon but managed 6 between us on emergers and nymphs in the faster water.
