Had 3 days on the river, lovely scenery, 9 trout over the 3 days, lots of fish rising, just had to find what they were taking, mainly Shipmans Buzzer.

Will be back

River was very low and conditions generally poor. Fished fly on 10ft rods, AFTM4 for trout and 7/8 for salmon, and please note I fished only the Eggleston Hall beat as my party were staying there. No salmon whatever showed during the entire week. The 6 trout I hooked were small (maximum 9 inches) and all returned unharmed to the river. As a comment, I have to say that river access and wading were rather difficult throughout the beat, with the low river exposing many round and slippery boulders.
