3 Decent Barbel (5lb14oz, 6lb 1oz and 7lb 8oz) and one around a pound. All the Chub were very decent in the 3lb - 5lb class, and a Pike of around 7lb caught on a Pellet.
Lovely day to be on the bank but fishing was pretty slow with a Barbel first cast of the day and one last cast of the day and the others spaced pretty evenly throughout.
A good Salmon was crashing about in one of the pools, celebrating the end of the Salmon fishing season no doubt?

All fish taken on either 8mm pellet or 14mm dumbbells with feeder and pellet loose feed

Our first time on this lovely beat and we will return. On a cold and frosty start to the day we walked the beat and found plenty of swims to choose from and decided on a couple 100 yards downstream of the hut. Glynn the gillie came along an hour or so after we had started fishing and informed us that these were probably not the most productive pegs at this time of year but we stuck it out and although no Barbel we managed 12 chub between us, the smallest around 3lb with the majority 4lb and above. We were kept company all day by two Kingfishers darting up and down all day, egrets, kites and buzzards. We were given advice by a friendly walker / angler on where to fish this beat next time so will take this on board.

Good access and great selection of pegs to fish.Best beat I've been on. Seemingly good height and colour.Overcast and mild.....what possibly could go wrong. Had the wrong bit of meat at the end ....me!!!! Sreams fish ...for a competent angler!!! Did foul hook an inch and a half minnow..does that count??? Fishing equipment for sale ....rods barely bent!!! DEVASTATED!!!!!

Hard day .with a high river and lots of debris coming down.however a lovely looking beat that we will try again next year

River in better condition than expected, colour was good and flow too despite it being lower that normal.
Best Barbel was 8lb.

River still very low and like tap water, good day with lots of chub between 2 & 4lb all on float fished pellets in the car park field.
