Unfortunately the record flood , algae bloom, another flood crystal clear ,low waters no weed growth meant that we had the worst weeks fishing on the wye for 7 years. this venue we have fished every year and always caught plenty of fish ?The wye hopefully will recover . 2anglers 2 small chub 1 small barbel 2days

3 x "local" rods began fishing at 6.30pm for the evening session. River very high and difficult to find a swim. Managed to drop into some slack water on the long right hand bend before the Pylon swim. Managed 1 x Barbel must have been over 8lbs taken on pellet close in.
At around 8.30pm, 2 male swimmers went past in wet suits mid-stream being carried along on the flood. Been fishing for over 50 years and never seen that before!!!

Day 1 of 3 of our annual pilgrimage. Fished mainly down near the Lugg's mouth. River the lowest we've experienced. Bright sunshine and a chilly breeze from the north. A family of 8 canoeists took up residence on the beach in the Lugg at the confluence with the Wye and a group of sunbathers paddled in the Wye on the opposite bank. That all said we still had a lovely day on a beautiful beat. Chub fell mainly to corn on the trot and the sole barbel fell to a ledgered pellet late on.
