First ever days Salmon fishing. 17lb bar of silver caught on a red S.H Flying C

21.5lb very fresh fish. Glynn’s first ever landed fish on the fly! Returned very strongly.

Lovely well maintained beat by Glynn the ghillie. Lovely colour and height for the fly just above the mucky Lugg probably limiting things downstream today, seemed a good bet for one stopping off in the clearer water of the lovely Poachers pool! Fish seen early on and possibly one last thing but nothing took hold today. Oxford run fishing beautifully and the lie just off the little croy 70m down has had 3 so far - contrates the mind when nearing that and there's a ghillie to tell you this! Great spot all really well looked after so you can get at it. Ghillie, hut, (tea!) couple of cracking lies to fly fish easily for a good chance at a fish of a lifetime on fly. £25 plus booking fee, £10 tip, got to be good value compared with other beats which are not similarly "policed" or maintained. 1 respectful canoe kindly passing near side as requested.

River at good height and very clear, no fish but very much enjoyed.

No luck in a couple of hours I spent fishing, good to see other rod catching.

Stunning morning,had my first Chubb at 07.30 and weighed in( by the ghillie) at 6lb 4 oz ,pb.bumped one of off at 08.00 and that was it for the rest of the day,very sunny and warm,not ideal fishing conditions but great to be sat on the bank,ghillie was super helpful and friendly as usual,great day,great beat

Blanked today, river temp cold and nothing showing any interest.

same as day before , except not a bite to be had, all methods put into practice

hard frost , gin clear , bright sunshine . not a sniff of any barbs or chub
