Very fish showed in spit of quite a few mays and yellow mays around. The evening spinner fishing din't really kick-off either, though that was when we caught the couple of fish.

Stunning, sunny day! Water up slightly but clear and looking healthy.
Had a 46cm trout on a small size 16 bead head Nymph (Hares ear variation) among another few around the 30cm mark.
About noon there was a reasonable hatch of olives and so I switched over to the dries and enjoyed catching another 5 trout on olive cdc emergers, size 16.
What a fantastic day!

Felt a bit chilly windy when I got there and the water a bit chilly and cloudy. Only one half hearted rise seen and the odd yellow mayfly seen before they got eaten by birds.

Just a little kick in the water level, and a little colour too, from Tuesday's rain made me hopeful. Lots of flies in the air as well. But there weren't many fish showing. First time on this beat, and I'll be back again, if only to learn where the best access points are to some very attractive water. Caught two trout on downstream nymph.
