Two rods fished on a warm day. River at a good level and flow although a little coloured. Waded up to the top of the Island swims, bank has been eroded. A mixture float trotting and cage ledgering with meat and pellets produced 87 chub, 1 dace and with the last cast a 9lb 6oz barbel.

Float fishing for chub. We caught so many we lost count.

The path leading to the pegs was fairly overgrown.

The river was surprisingly running very coloured and only one swim was really producing.Its a lovely long beat with many enticing swims and so if you after barbel you probably have to try a few different spots.

River was dropping, slowed right down and had a lovely session between us both.

J.C had 28 Chub, no sign of Barbel on this occasion.

Arrived down the river and it had Risen by a couple foot! Unable to fish down the end due to high water, Had 1 Barbel 10Chub between us, could only fish close in as it was running through fast. Pleasant day considering the conditions.

Lovely opening day on a slowly rising river. Lots of chub on the standard feeder rigs but the barbel were not interested.
