1 chub...river still high but dropping. Only water that looked fishable was being fished by a great lad from Gateshead.

Back in the same area as yesterday as river still well up and coloured like Monday. Today was a lovely hot sunny day. The fish were a bit more cautious today and as a result smaller baits were required. I ended up catching 6 barbel and 1 large dace which was very satisfying under the circumstances so all in all a great start to the season.
Once again a very big thank you to all at WUF who do such a fantastic job gaining access to these fabulous waters.

The sun broke through about 3-30,which allowed us to fish until 6-30. We had a good day with 12 Barbel and 2 Chub being caught between us. Les had a 4lb 10oz Chub trotting with maggots. We both agreed this was a good result to end the season on. Thanks to you all at W&U see you next season.

Our first visit for a while to this consistent beat, and it did not disappoint. We fished the middle part of the beat and caught 11 barbel and a chub between us. The barbel were of a higher average size than in the past, with the best at at 8lb 1oz. The usual feeder fished pellet proved the most productive. The constant sound of curlew in the fields opposite also helped make this a very pleasant day.

No fish caught but several salmon seen, numbers of Cormorants and Gooseanders. Wonderful day even though fishless looking forward to next season.

First time on WUF waters, picked a really nice day for a change. This is a lovely bit of water - managed to catch 7 barbel between 5lb and 7.12 all in excellent condition and boy do they scrap. Fished mainly with pellets and hemp. All in all a great days fishing and I'm off to Lower Ballingham tomorrow to round off a great trip so far.

Whatever life throws at you, there is no better cure than a day by the river. Fished with my brother on what has to be our favourite WUF stretch of the Wye. Very clear conditions and the most beautiful blue sky; Buzzards wheelng overhead and Curlews calling in the fields opposite. Between us we had 12 Barbel between us and 4 Chub, all on the pellet feeder combo. The best fish of the day (8:11) came around five o'clock. Thanks once again to the WUF - efficient booking and everything working smoothly.

The river levels were low and clear and we had to search a few swims to find the barbel. Fishing mostly with "traditional" baits, bread, cheese and luncheon meat, we winkled out eight barbel to just under seven pounds and a few plump chub. WUF has made some lovely water available for day ticket fishing and we are very grateful for the service provided.

We picked the windiest day of the week on which to wind up our season. Did it blow and then either downstream or straight at you so trotting proved tricky. River was in great condition with plenty of water and hardly any colour. Without the expected visit from Colin the guide, we had to find the fish ourselves (whatever is fishing coming to!) but that wasn't difficult and after a morning of exploration we found 'em in mid afternoon and had regular action to both rods until dark.
Unusually we caught more barbel than chub despite the regular trickle of maggots and pellets but what a way to finish the season and what a lovely stretch of river to do it on.
We stopped at Woody's Tackle in Hereford en route - does any shop have a bigger selection of feeders and river floats?
Thanks WUF
