Pretty much the same as yesterday (dire) but we did at least have some action. The three fish were the only bites all day.

A quick reccie session in the evening before going off to check in at the campsite (Pwylln farm btw, & can highly recommend!) and wanted to check out the stretch I hadnt fished before above the old farmhouse and up to the waterfall boundary.
Low water for sure and generally a bit of a bedrock shute for a short way but the waterfall area is lovely in all ways .
Didnt move any fish to a search dry but sure there must be some here somewhere!
The back of the famhouse has a deepish but reasonably slow gutter . Could fish well at the right time?
Access along the bank/river was fine.

River was low as expected, two grayling on nymph's in the quicker water missed a couple also and one decent trout on a dry fly on the flat one of the very few i saw rising. Forgot to spray with jungle formula, good day for horse flies. Lovely couple hours on the river

Very disappointed with the upstream section of this beat. Access to the river was totally obstructed by vegetation with no clearing to have been done. This in addition to near vertical banks made getting down to the water extremely difficult. I do think that the land owners do hold some responsibility to make sure their fishery has reasonable access considering the price for a days fishing.
The river was very low of course and only managed to catch a couple of small chub with no sign of barbel...both were caught on small cubes of bacon grill on swim feeder tactics.
The downstream of the beat may have better access but based on what the upper beat was like I personally could not recommend this particular fishery.

2 Chub
