Water levels slowly improving
We fished several swims and managed to catch steadily through the day

Rain had brought a small rise in the river level and a bit of colour. Plenty of chub bites but the barbel hard to find. Sweetcorn and pellets in conjunction with a feeder brought results.

Would you believe it, a rising river! Lovely to see and not a problem until it went a dark chocolate colour and large rafts of weed and debris came floating by. Still, great to be back on the river at a decent level and temperature.

River conditions improving. Took fish all through the day. Fish to Barbel 7.5lb Chub 4lb.

Feeder and float fishing brought a steady day of fish. Some chub in the 3 to 4 pound range and some barbel to 7 to 8.
This is the second time I have booked this fishery and both times there was a free day in a sea of taken slots and both times I had tree cutting on the opposite bank. Does this mean that all other anglers are some how informed and do not book this day? Very pleasant talk with the other angler on the beat.
