The conditions of the river were perfect today , 2ft higher after the rain earlier in the week and a nice colour to the water which made the fishing great catching chub to 5 1/2 lb and barbel to 8lb . Another good day on this beat .

Wet start to the day and had to move several times to find the fish. River still very low and will no doubt fish better when we have had some decent rainfall. Colin has kept the path well strimmed making access to the lower part of the beat much easier although we didn't venture to the end. Stuck to legering with feeder and pellets but will bring the trotting rod next time.

Another fine day at this lovely beat. Fish were slow to get started but fed hard for a couple of hours in late afternoon. We found barbel in several swims, all in spectacular condition. Chub plentiful, hungry and getting bigger by the week! Very good to see a couple of small barbel of a pound or so in the mix.
