Weather again very mixed with frequent downpours in the afternoon. Fished the downstream section fast and shallow as there were quite a few other anglers on the opposite side of the section upstream of the foot bridge which was disappointing. River in the afternoon on the rise making angling difficult.

Fishing aborted, appaling weather and river in full flood.

Another slow day interrupted by pretty spectacular thunderstorm. Marine based baits ineffective, sweetcorn the most successful.

Although the river looked in good condition with the level falling slightly , the day proved hard going. Barbel on krill and shrimp boilies, chub on mixed seafood boilies and sweetcorn.

All caught at the bottom end of the beat in the fast water on a variety of baits. Have been fishing here for years and never known the Barbel so elusive ??
