Fly fished. Water height fine, maybe a little low. Pretty clear. Didn't see any salmon show but had a few 8-10oz brown trout.

Sunny day, very windy, river running fast on the drop after resent flood saw it rise about four feet. Cold morning, only three degrees. No fish showing but nice to be on the bank at 7am. No fish caught.

The Gillies advice was spot on! (really appreciated him pointing us in the right direction over the phone as he was not available on the day)
My salmon estimated at 14lbs took at 9:40am opposite the hut with a good pull from a second 10 minutes later. A good fish leaped above me also. Red Flying C did the business as advised with water fining down after high water earlier in the week. My fishing partner managed a nice trout on the lower beat on the fly. Great access to the river really enjoyed our time here.

Good water height and clearing. Hooked and lost one fish of around 3lb on the fly. I suspect it was an escapee Rainbow or a very silver brown trout. My mate reckoned it was a Salmon but they are not that small in the Wye!

Started at 9am on the top crib and worked down. Sometime after midday had a very gentle take to the spinner, the culprit turned out to be a 12.5lb fresh run cock - safely returned. Fished down past the bridge and back up but no further fish. Saw three different fish head and tail at various points during the day.

Hooked a good salmon on third cast (Flying C) but lost it (2nd in 2 visits). Unfortunately had to leave early.
