As 3 others fishing today I arrived at first light but to see an angler already walking down the bottom end, so I started up the top. River at 1.34 Ross gauge and a lovely colour with a foot vis, sunny intervals a.m. cloudy and rainy p.m.
Had 2 small chub and a 6lb barbel in the first hour and a aff and lost one, then nowt for a couple of hours. Just thinking of moving and had another 2 chub, biggest 4.05. Eventually moved early afternoon and added another 4 barbel to 8lb and a small chub. GB feeder and pellet or boillie. It does seem to be very 'peggy' at the moment so you need to be prepared to move. Thanks WUF.

Only a few bites all day - and landed only one chub. Water high and coloured, banks treacherous, ropes essential. Lovely setting though.

River at 1.84m on the Ross gauge, 10.4 water temp and about a foot visibility. Still a few swims fishable although the banks are extremely dodgy and slippery. Two fished and it took a move to find fish: an 8lb barbel and two chub to one; one 4lb barbel to the other. So a hard day but no dreaded blankety blank.

River was well up and pushing through hard, banks were extremely slippery, hazardous really, almost impossible to find anywhere to fish. Only 2 anglers attempted to fish, not sure exactly what is classed as a wash off?, a very difficult day. Hardly worth the 5 hours travelling time.

With the river rising overnight and still rising before we set off, made the decision to give it a miss. Shame as we where looking forward to fishing. fished MHC a few times this year always found it to be a well run beat.

Tough going with the river almost over the bank. Stuck at and had a nice day in the end. All fish caught on the feeder in the slacks,

We caught 13 Barbel up to 8lb 9oz, the river was rising fast & we decided to pack up early as it looked like it was about to burst its banks, last day on the river today this season, thanks to WUF & the landowners for allowing access to the various beats.
