Although nothing caught, a pleasure to fish this beautiful beat. River a little low for salmon but was able to walk the beat and look for some potential lies when the conditions are better

one chub to a hitch fly, got the pulse going for a minute !

The rain they promised earlier in the week didn't come. River low, fished early to mid morning with nothing happening

Lost 1 fish

Well a good day was had by DH and myself, the former catching a record 35 fish, mostly trout to 1 1/2lb. I caught my second Wye salmon of the week! This was a 12lb hen fish. She was a little thin and with some colour. She need some oxygenation before swimming off.

The split second she took my fly I slipped and fell in! Just what you want.... When trying to put her back in the water, I had become entangled with my line and it tripped me up, and I fell in again, this time whilst holding a salmon!! Only after when I went to retrieve my rod did I notice that the tripping incident had snapped my rod in two sections..... s**t...

Fantastic day. Cool and overcast. Hatch at 5pm. 25 trout around 10oz with 5 at 1.5 -2lb.
Didn't fish for salmon as have tennis elbow.

30 Trout, 1 Grayling, 2 Other

1ft 3"...perfect for the lower half of the beat. Salmon showed in the 3 best taking lies, but were not reading the script.... this is story of my season on the Wye this year

Low water and no fish. However, enjoyable day and very well looked after by Jonathan who persuaded me to invest in further tackle and hence visit to sport fish following. Has he shares in business?? Great to be fishing close to home and will be back very shortly.

Blazing hot day, the beat looking stunning. Chunky coloured fish leaping rolling in the Rectory Pool a few times, covered it and changed flies 3 times, could not tempt it. More exploring today checking out the RHB too, puts a whole new perspective on it. Until the next time.
