Fished before and after work. In the morning, lost a good fish after long first run that took at the top of the Mill stream, then in the Rectory pool, at the end of the old croy a steady tightening turned into a clean 10lber that had been in a couple of weeks.
After work, fished the same water. 2 separate fish moved to the fly on the far side of the Mill stream before, about 30 yards down, a 4.5lb grilse took solidly. No further action in neck of Rectory or the pool itself, but 3 fish hooked and 2 others moved in 3hrs fish fishing is pretty good!

2 Salmon

Fished dry fly for rising fish. Good hatch in the afternoon evening. Used olive, Adams and black klinkhammer. A lovely day with the river to myself.

3 Trout, 1 Grayling

River on the lowside, was told it was on "compensation water", fished the fly on the Rectory pool,one fish showed, looked clean enough, but not interested in what I was offering, also fished the Rock but alas with no success, I`m sure I only fish because I like coffee and sandwiches, hopefully better luck next time I visit, the lady in the booking office was very helpful as it was my first visit to the foundation, explained all the ins and outs of the system/tickets etc, and I think it was Simon? was very helpful in showing where best to fish, lies etc, I`m near sure he guaranteed me a fish so maybe get a freebie next time,hahaha!!but I had a really nice day on the river, thank you.

Lovely beat. Jonathan [Morris] is a fantastic instructor and a wonderful companion for a day on the water. He helped me fish with confidence and I felt we were fast friends by day's end. I will be back to fish your impressive resource. Did not touch or see a salmon. PMB.

Trout returned. Size 6".

8 Trout

Another good day on the river. The beat is in good condition and fish (fresh grilse) seen in the Mill Stream and Rectory

River in good condition and a stunning beat. Had a great first day salmon fishing after a few lessons. No salmon caught but some nice trout. Will try again soon.

5 Trout

River was in good condition and saw a couple of fish moving at the bottom of the Rocks. A fellow rod I spoke to had lost a fish late morning. Its good to see that plenty of rods are out on this part of the river at the moment. Dry flies don't catch fish! And the fish are certainly there despite what some might tell you on various internet blogs (or whatever you call them).

River was about two foot; using nymphs lots of bites on the flats and a nice 8" brown lost one in the bridge pool the gravel catch produced an 8" and 12" fish, good fishing

3 Trout

Started in Rock Pool, had a trout just below rock on brass tube cascade. Three casts later had another pull which I expected to be another trout but rod kicked over fish took a few feet of line and came unstuck. 1 salmon lost and that was the only action for the day.
