First trip out this season and parked up at the pipe bridge around midday. As I walked down to the bottom of the beat I came across JA's truck at the middle bridge. Great to have a catch up with Joe and left him to fish the lower section.
I fished Tenkara on the middle section and managed a couple of trout on small nymph.
Water very low and clear but nice to be back out.

Very difficult. Bright sun, clear water, few rises. Beautiful location with stunning scenery. We did wonder when there were no other anglers.

Only able to visit for a couple of hours. Bright and cold wind and very little rising despite quite a bit of insect activity. No success but a nice stretch.

Cold start to the day! Very clear shallow water. The section up stream from mallhollam bridge has a lot of over hanging trees and dead fall across the river which can make it tricky casting.
Very little/no hatch’s, so dry fly wasn’t an option. I was euro nympthing for most of the morning. I saw maybe 3 or 4 brown trout but they were very “spooky” and I had no luck.

This is the first time on this river, the access points to the river are very well marked with posts the upper part of the beat has areas of faster flowing water with pools so with a good hatch there should be lots of sport, one trout caught on a March brown nymph.
the water was very clear and although there was a half descent hatch the fish din not react with only two coming to the surface for a very short time this is wild fishing and it is not easy a river I will go back to, a 7 - 8 foot rod is probably the max length required
