Absolutely a great days fishing. Caught plenty of fish and had action all day. No monsters but good size for most fish.

Very low water , lowest I can remember .

First time on this beat,access limited apart from beach area. I can see why it doesn’t get fished much!

I was on the water before 4 p.m. and still had a wonderful time with my family. It's just a shame the fish started biting just as it was time to head home. I caught one rainbow trout using worms and lost two on spinning.

Arrived at 2pm weather hot and sunny river same conditions as yesterday started floatfishing feeding pellets and hemp and meat on the hook 4 chub in quick succession 2lb - 3lb then swim died,moved swims carried on with same method a further 10 chub followed.Changed to groundbait feeder with meat on the hook and fished until dusk 6 chub up to 4lb and a bonus Barbel of 7lb 4oz.

River very low. Very sunny but chub fed throughout the day. Barbel caught early on. All caught on pellets in top swim of the fishery.
