river perfect nothing seen or touched surprised really

Fished all of the beat today with guest SP.
A few accidental trout but no salmon caught or seen.
The river level has dropped off quickly but the clarity was good today.

Only fished for a couple of hours am. River at a nice height but still carrying a lot of colour. Nothing seen or caught.

nothing caught or seen on what for me is good travelling water. Nice to be out with the fly rod

The River was dark following the rain. It was high, so much so that wading was deep, challenging and close to the bank.

I caught two trout and a grayling (all quickly returned) who rather surprisingly liked a Willie Gunn. The salmon (if there were any, or could see) didn't.

I fished from Rock Pool to New Catch.

A short afternoon visit today. Couldn’t find any grayling but OOS trout were all smallish apart from a 2lb er from the neck of the rectory.
Caught swinging spiders, nailers and snipe and purple.

Hen fish approx 10lbs at 1200 from Upper Glangwye, handled with care and quickly put back.

It was as dead as a dodo. No takes whatsoever. May well have been down to my incompetence, I’m not sure. Anyway I was using the ‘Klink and Dink’ method. I tried various flies to adjust my depth, but to no avail. Towards the end of my day I did see a lively salmon swimming at the top of the beat - the only fish I saw all day. Still an enjoyable day, and I don’t regret giving it a go.
