Probably still a bit high in the morning but the level dropped and clarity improved for a fly later. Different day. Same tactics. Same result. No salmon but I hooked a fish spinning at the bottom of the beat early evening which didn’t stick. Possible salmon or maybe a big trout.

Clarity returning after a few rainless days. Made two passes through Gravel Catch with spinner and then flies. Several takes from trout as the fly swung to shallower water.
Switched to trout rod for an early afternoon rise. One on cdc shuttlecock.

Started at 9.30 and finished in biblical rain just before 7.00. I was quite hopeful when I arrived and saw the river, highish water at 2’5 but with a nice tinge and maybe 7’-8’ visibility. Fished most of the pools multiple times with heavy tubes and T14, spinning them after as well, but no salmon seen.
I also had a look at the hut and it doesn’t appear that there have been any more unwelcome visitors after the reported break in. Door still needs a lock though.
A long hard day but nice to be out searching for silver again.

As the river conditions weren't favourable, did not travel.

Slightly better conditions, but still very high. We spent all day casting from one end of the beat to another, but had no luck. Still enjoyed it though.

Very high water and almost chocolate brown. We did try, but to be honest concentrated more on bbq.
