Very hot and bright conditions coupled with a low and clear river made it difficult to catch. An occasional Chub on the float and a surprise mid afternoon barbel on the feeder were all we had to show for our efforts. Packed up early as the call of a cold pint was too hard to resist.

Spent 2 weeks at Ty Newydd and have had some very good day's fishing. Have had to avoid some very hot days except early mornings or dusk. Only a few fish caught to dry fly's in the evenings. Otherwise, weighted nymphs in fast moving water was the most successful approach. Some rain early 1st week of July boosted water levels for a couple of days but now very low again. Daytime water temperatures 17-20 degrees.
