We just had a few hours fishing this beautiful beat before heading home. Two lads in canoes suddenly crept up on us but were polite enough to go back down stream when I pointed out that they were not supposed to be there until October.

Our first trip this season and last I expect as this covid 19 seems to be on the march again. We fished for Salmon most of the day but gave up as the trout began to show interest in feeding. No Salmon caught or seen. The trout for a short while were very active as is the usual.

Beautiful stretch of river, with some very likely-looking holding pools. Despite not catching any salmon it was good to be out on the Wye again. Many thanks to the member angler and his friend for the advice and hospitality. The river was running clear and was around 1’ 6” on the Llanstephan gauge..
