I found this beat quite difficult, all the fish came in the morning and I think that I should have rather focused on the early morning and then called it a day. There was a nasty cold wind blowing downstream the entire day and that made the fishing difficult. It may have put the fish down or put off the hatches. I did get back on the river late in the evening (it was the longest day of the year), and there was a considerable mixed hatch of upwings and caddis flies but not a fish moved. Never saw a rise.. So a tough day at the office, but I enjoyed it, as I have enjoyed all the beats I have fished and I am very thankful that the Wye Usk foundation makes that possible.. Thank you

No fish caught by myself or my guest River quite low and the weather hot and very sunny.Still, nice to be on the river.

Did 2 hard days for a total of 7 trout and one shad , Massive hatch of everything that flies on the first evening but only a handful of fish moving , odd !?

Very hot and sunny and the water was very low. Tough going generally, very little rising despite a large mayfly hatch. Fish taken on nymphs.

Didn’t fish today water was chocolate in colour and decided that it was too risky to wade. Couldn’t see inches below the surface (WUF note.....Noel: please ask the office for a wash off)
