A tricky beat to wade from the main road side, and a staff is a must! A great days sport, and a nice Shad, a new species for me, to finish the day off. All fish taken on a nymph, not many rises seen through the day.

7 of what we believe to be chub caught with various spinning fish lures. the tail fins looked quite pointed compared to some photos of chub on the web so photo attached. (WUF note: these are Twaite shad)

fished through the pools with a variety of lines and flies and didnt hook any salmon but did manage to catch a rather large grayling on a salmon fly

A decent salmon followed my fly at Upper Heirag. Couple of nice trout on dry flies.
I left a landing net on the bank at Bridge Pool. If anyone finds it, could they contact the office. Thank you.
