Arrived at lunchtime and took 3 trout, two on dry and one on wet.
However, it then went very quiet, probably a combination of the high temperatures and bright sun.

Decided not to fish as the conditions were the same as the previous unproductive evening. Cut our losses and moved on to try the Usk.

Oh the shame! A nil return for Llyn Bugeilyn. We fished a few hours in the evening, without sight of a fish. In our defence it was blisteringly hot under a windless, cloudless sky. All trout with any sense were hiding in depths in the middle of the lake.

Whilst the rest of the country was basking in hot sunshine Bugeilyn did not disappoint----overcast with a brisk and chilly westerly wind we needed coats! However the fish obliged and we actually landed 28 hard fighting trout between us and must have missed at least as many. Most took on or near the surface--black Pennell, silver Invicta, peter ross ,coch y bondhu. seemed to work. Fun day in glorious surroundings

Was the perfect weather conditions when I parked up in my truck at about eleven . . . . A steady westerly breeze , and thick cloud !!!!!!! Used my home tied traditional wets initially , as there was no surface activity , and used roaming tactics along the Eastern shore , picking off fish , not deep down , with various retrieves , sport was fantastic and as usual the black finned tribe put up a battle once hooked !!!! Spartans in their own right I'd say !!!!!!! Mid afternoon , some splashy rises started appearing around the area of the lone pine tree , so tried one of my small sedge patterns , and was taken with relish , accounting for seven , before it started looking a bit worse for wear !!!!!!! Ringing the changes was the order of the day , and by three , rises had finished , so I opted for a wet Coch y Bonddu and a small bibio , which seemed to do the trick , and fished that all the way up to the culvert , which accounted for another eight beautiful brownies , some a quick pic taken , then slipped back into their peaty abyss !!!!! The wind was loosing some of its poke by five , so fished between the lillies in boathouse bay , which seemed to winkle out the bigger fish , taking two cracking fish , superb condition , with bright red spots ,contrasting against the shimmering bottle green sides , melting into brown on their backs , absolutely superb day , and so on a high , I packed up at six , a happy chappy, with twenty one brownies caught and released , and several more missed , this was one of the best days for a long time that I've had at Bugeilyn . . . . . . . . . I shall be back again in search of the finny tribe , and I tip my hat to you Llyn Bugeilyn for an outstanding day !!!!!!!!!

Moderate winds with heavy rain from 1pm to 3pm. With a very good hatch of alder in the afternoon, very pleasing day. Eleven trout .

Great days fishing at this wonderful location. Most of the fish caught typically 6 to 10 oz with very fast strikes and hard fighting providing amazing sport. Fished wet pattern using butcher on the dropper and bibio on the point size 14 which seemed to be quite effective ( 18 trout between us with at least the same number of strikes, failing to hook)! Can be quite boggy at the top end but other than that no real issues.
