Lovely setting, weather overcast, light winds.
No fish caught. No fish rising, plenty of bites from mosquitos though!

Very difficult going. Not so much as a take.

A wet day - drifts of rain from light to heavy downpour blowing across the reservoir. Nothing moving during the heavy spells, early afternoon saw a better couple of hours and fish jumping. Managed 1 Rainbow of 1lb 12oz, 2 Browns around 1lb, 2 small browns returned, all on 'midge buzzer' types from the shallow north end of the reservoir.

5 Trout

Caught three brown trout, two undersized and returned, one kept, 14 inch. There were foreign anglers there using non fly methods, did not see any bailiff. If this is happening then no wonder the fishing was hard going but an enjoyable day!

3 Trout

Slight breeze and clear blue sky. Heavenly evening.
Fished for 3 hours 5:30pm - 8:30pm Many fish rising.
Took two small (1/2lb) brown trout in relatively good condition, off the top on a black and peacock spider.
Saw many (well over a 100) dead frogs in the margins.

2 Trout

Hot afternoon at beacons, few fish seen but not taking, left about 5 so missed any evening action.

Aprox. 4 small brownies 9 - 11inch. Weather very wet driving rain until mid afternoon sun came out, rather pleasant. Caught on size 14 beaded hairs ear.

Rainbow, worm, 1 fish caught/taken. 2lb approx.

One Fish landed, a brown of about 10 oz.{returned} on a fluttering sedge dry, missed a few takes early on in the day on a hare`s ear nymph an a bibio, started raining heavily about 2pm, so called it a day - very enjoyable day`s fishing !
