A nice beat, 6 barbel on pellets in the morning and two chub trotting in the afternoon. The track down to parking area could do with a trim, brambles on both sides. Very good day thanks.

Very tough day with the heat and low river level. Managed 1 chub each. Walked the entire beat and couldn't have tried any harder. Fished another beat 2 days later and had a much better day following a small amount of rainfall. It really does make a huge difference. Will be booking short notice in future to ensure we find more favourable conditions. We have started fishing the Wye only this season, and it's by far my favorite river. Such beautiful settings and in the main, exceptional fishing. Many thanks to the Foundation for making it possible.

River very low, bright conditions, did not suit my style of fishing. Lost one barbel whilst trotting a little run.
Nice beat needs a bit of extra water.
Salmon were jumping all over the river, they did look a little coloured so have been in a while.

We were disappointed on this occasion to catch so few from what is normally a very productive beat. G caught all four barbel and I blanked apart from a foul hooked gudgeon.

Great fishing in lovely surroundings, barbel feeding confidently on pellets and sweetcorn at dusk.

A cloudy drizzly day helped the fishing. We both caught from different swims in the middle part of the fishery. M as usual caught the best fish - a 5lb chub. We both caught barbel to 8lbs though most fish were much smaller, 3-4 lbs.

Great location, caught fish all day from a swim in the fast water by the islands & then from the bridge swim in the evening. Barbel were between 5 and 8.5lbs & the lone chub was 5lb. Did not get to explore the bottom of the beat so good excuse to come back again!

We arrived in heavy rain on Monday 5th which continued for some time. When I looked out of the window on Tuesday morning the river was very very full. I walked along the beat but there was no possibility of wading with a fly without endangering life and limb. So sadly a nil return.

Went back to the same swim as the day before. The barbel were concentrated in this area and I kept the feed going in steadily. Gave the swim (and myself) regular rests to get the fish confident on the spots. Finished with 31 barbel with four fish over 7 lb to 7lb 10 oz, the remainder being 5 and 6lb fish. A great day only marred by me breaking the tip of my favorite rod while adjusting a float stop.
If I had a nice shiny new car I might think twice about going down the track with the overgrown brambles, but if you have an old fishing wagon I would not be concerned.
