Great day's fishing, the Barbel were feeding throughout the day, I caught in every swim I tried. Best three were 10lb 3oz , 8lb 12oz and 7lb 13oz. All to feeder tactics with paste wrapped boilies. River in superb condition, coloured and pushing through but 3 1/2oz feeders were just about OK. Really pretty stretch! I will definitely visit here again.

A really nice beat on the lower Wye with several decent swims towards the top end of the beat. Feeder fished mostly and rolled some meat which resulted in the barbel. We will be back.

My first ever Barbel. 6.25lbs 7.25 lbs & 5.25lbs so two personal bests. Feeder with hair rigged banded Dumbell Hookers. The lower end of the beat looked so slippers that I fished in the woods where the swims appeared safer. Brilliant day and with thanks to the Wye and Usk Foundation.

Arrived just as 2 other anglers were leaving. They said it was pretty much unfishable.... Not sure what they were talking about as we both had a choice of swims and settled to go in a big double swim.

I landed 9 Barbel and 2 big eels while my dad had 3 Barbel and a Chub. Lots of weed still in the river and lots of debris coming down. Frightening to think what we would have caught in better conditions.

I think people forget this is the Wye and that it's Wild fishing.

We will definitely come here again.

Hard day today, river looked perfect. Just one bite between us, a barbel of 9lb 1oz. I’m sure the long walks must have been beneficial!!
