Tough day at the Rocks but extremely enjoyable. River was fairly high and running extremely fast but success came from fishing mostly Czech Nymphs and later in the afternoon a few fish to dry's.

Heavy rain overnight- river high and chocolate brown, certainly would'nt want to wade & casting a fly for grayling seemed a waste of time so did'nt even put a rod together. In the right conditions the beat looks like it could be fantastic- alot of water to cover in a day & the owner obviously puts time and effort in- nice looking hut and well maintained paths.

Fished duo with a s16 goldhead hares ear wound with gold thread, hanging from a s14 light gray klink.
Most fish fell to the hares ear with gentle takes. There were quite a few rises too with about 25% fish caught on the dry.
Only the OOS WBT and one Grayling were less than 12”. The rest between 12” and 15”. Great day, great beat.

first time on this beat, I guess it is what it says on the tin but I wasn't expecting rocks the size of houses and big really deep pools! not exactly pocket water is it. it certainly is a spectacular looking beat and possibly the best parking spot of them all. if you hunt around a bit there are several grayling looking spots around but the obvious big glide above the hut is the easiest to fish ( all be it , it was a little deep today) not sure why but it was more coloured here than it was at doldowlod yesterday? warm sunny day but nothing rising so all fish caught on nymphs. grayling to 14" trout all about 9"

A great beat with many features. A combination of techniques used but most fish falling to dries - sedge and CDC - but some success with blink and dink. One fisherman landed a personal best Grayling of 15".

Extremely sunny conditions but Czech Nymph technique produced a fantastic days sport in the fast oxygenated water.
River was low and evidence that it was dropping further.

Great mornings fishing at the rocks, couldn't find the trout but lots of Grayling to be had on small nymphs.
