After 36 hours of anxiously watching the river cams and EA gauges the river was still high but starting to fine down nicely. Fished the field above the lower entrance. Centre of river flowing very fast, calmer water nearer the bank and a nice crease between the two. Had my first ever barbel (3lb and 7lb) and a PB chub (3lb), on pellets behind a feeder.
Even a broken quiver tip on a brand new feeder rod couldn't dampen my spirits. Will come for longer next time.
Previous comments re steepness of bank are accurate but its negotiable with care (thanks for cutting in the steps) and a long handled landing net.
Many thanks again to the "few" at WUF from one of the many!

River up 6ft above Summer levels. I fished the slower water off a crease created by a big bush/tree near the end of the meadow towards the orchard. Had 4 barbel on Robin Red Pellets, biggest 9.5lbs. There will soon be a lot of Specimen Barbel coming from beats like Sugwas and the ability to upload photos of your Trophy catches maybe a feature some Anglers would like, possibly.

WUF note - Please feel free to email us any of your catches admin@wyeuskfoundation.org and we will upload them onto our Twitter account.

Fished downstream of the orchard. I had 4 barbel and B. had 3, all a good stamp of fish. Interesting swims, several feet up and strong current. Easy access although downstream section is headheight with thistles and nettles. Shame about the cattle and the big bull. A WUF gem.

The river was running a little high however my friend and I still managed to catch six barbel (Three each) and five chub. Barbel from five to seven pounds in weight. All caught on pellet, fishing the barbel bomb method. All fish came from fishing up close to over hanging bushes. My first barbel came within ten seconds of fishing, fastest caught fish of my life! We had an absolute fantastic time fishing our first time on the wye. We both look forward to coming back to fish the Wye very soon.

A pleasure, as always, to fish this beat. We caught 16 Barbel over the two days from 3lb up to just under 9lb, so a solid if unspectacular result. Strangely no sign of any Chub at all (I'm not complaining however!).
The river rose quickly on Sunday afternoon, which seemed to switch the fish off completely. As soon as it stopped rising a few hours later the activity resumed.

Caught 7 barbel and two chub, all on pellets. Conditions were initially against us, because of a massive thunderstorm early on the first day so we were more than happy to have landed this many.
Stayed at the Red Lion in Bredwardine, which was friendly, simple and comfortable.
The Foundation's service was terrific...thank you.
At Wyastone, a local resident had left a rude note on our car, saying that two cars are not allowed to park there...even though we only had one. The other car was nothing to do with us and must have arrived after we had started fishing. For what it's worth, I'd say there is plenty of space for two or even three cars.
