Mud central due to last weekends floods, river was rising again too, but nabbed a few nice fish

2 Barbel, 1 Chub

A quick afternoon session to see if Rachel could catch her fist barbel. Mission accomplished!

4 Barbel, 1 Chub

River in flood, ledgering over pellet, caught on Krill pellet.

3 Chub

Feeder fishing, river in flood, pellet and meat.

Fished the orchard peg. Good start to the day with 3 barbel in the first hour or so before a cold front swept in and killed it. Had a go for pike close in, nothing doing, nicked another barbel in the afternoon. Best fish 9lb+.

4 Barbel

Not the best conditions with the river in flood again, but managed a few. Highlight of the day was a good sized Salmon picking up my hook bait and charging into the main flow, stripping line off my reel, getting some air twice before throwing the hook.

Thoroughly enjoyable day , fished the lower end of the beat.

The paperwork for this Fishery is somewhat misleading. If the river is only slightly above Summer levels there is only one swim available at the top of the beat and only 2 or 3 at the bottom of the beat. However, once we’d sorted this out we had a great day! One tip, park in the lay-by as described on the map but walk down the road to the farm gate. It’s much quicker!
