Only fished till 10am! Never packed in on a day out before but today was utterly awful! The fishing was just starting to look good for the day then the armada started. In 20 years of fishing the Wye i've never seen so many people in kayaks, sib, sup boards, swimming, loud music, abusive, ignorant humans.... even a polite couple that came past paddling said they weren't enjoying the day! I honestly think the days of fishing the Wye are over for me! Dreadful ????

Fantastic fishing with light gear. Used a stick float and 4mm pellet for bait. Took a while to get bites but fish seemed to move in after 20 minutes or so and kept coming after that. Caught fish throughout the beat. Barbel up to 5lb and chub up to 4lb with the average being around the 1lb mark.

Two and a half hour evening session. Low and clear. Barbel and chub from fastest water found.
Excellent Indian food and good beer in the pub a stone's throw away meant an early finish today!

Bright and warm. Plenty of boats until around 3 o’clock and swimmers and dogs at the upstream end of the beat.
Fished the bottom two thirds starting at the wharf. No bites there or at the next croy. Bites came at the lower limit but no barbel in evidence.

First visit to Wyebank for a couple of years, it didn’t dissapoint, I took my nephew for his first ever visit to the Wye, he had 3 chub & 1 barbel on the feeder, but, topped it off with a barbel on the float, amazing , it took me 2 seasons to do that! All my fish caught trotting, barbel ranging from 3- 9lb +, Chub to 4lb, I’ll be back for another visit soon.

Recent rains put colour in the water which might explain why halibut pellets didn’t attract bites but spiced meat got their attention.
No big beasts, chub to 3lb and barbel to 4.
Left a good bit of terminal tackle in riverbed snags including two ‘Bouncing Betty” weights which worked well until they bounced into snags!

Did not fish due to the heavy rain overnight. The foot access can be tricky with gear in dry conditions so didn’t fancy trying it in the wet, also to get the best from this beat requires wading not much fun in the rain and a rising river
