Mostly on trotted meat, including the 2 Barbel.

Fished near bottom of beat in the morning with just a couple chub. Moved to the glide at the top once the canoes stopped and caught steadily on feeder and pellets including a 5lb Pike who snatched.it on the retrieve.

5 Barbel, 7 Chub, 1 Pike

River up from recent rains and pushing through at a pace, all baits/methods tried but with limited success. Only one small barbel and a sprinkling of Chub between us. Lovely to be out on the bank in such a beautiful place.

Couldnt get a touch on the float - all caught on the lead

Great day. Couldn't get the large numbers to keep feeding, bites came in bursts throughout the day. All on the feeder, couldn't get anything on the float.

Enjoyable evening session long trotting with bread for chub. Managed eleven in total up to about 4.5 lbs.

Good days fishing as usual on this beat. Only 6 canoes all day, wonderful. Eleven Barbel, 11 Chub & 1 Dace on pellet feeder.
River much higher than we usually find it so we struggled with the tackle we had. We are now too old to fish this beat again as the path to the end pool is in a very poor and dangerous state and gets harder every year.

I started fishing pellet and feeder but there was so much silk weed coming down stream it was impossible to present a bait properly and I spent the first two hours without a bite. Set the float rod up and first trot through a Barbel of around 7lb, caught steadily then until I packed up at 1pm. It seems a static bait was just getting smothered in silk weed but a moving bait was readily accepted.
