Had a day on the river on Saturday at Courtfield. Unfortunately I blanked, but my partner had 2 x Barbel, best 8 1/4 lb and a small chubb. River in good condition, spoke to the riverkeeper who was very informative and told us that no barbel had come out of there since January.
Will be back in the summer.

2 Barbel, 1 Chub

Spent the day roving with deadbaits trying all the slacks along the stretch but unfortunately had no runs. The water was freezing with Ice on the line!

Lovely stretch and beautiful surroundings, will be back in the near future.

Plenty of snow on the ground making some swims a bit to risky to fish. Unfortunately a blank with no action to myself and my mates rod. Will try again in the next few weeks.

Five inches of snow made access difficult. All fished Boat/Ferry pool with deadbaits - no fish.

3 fished deadbaits from pumping station down to wood. 1 lost fish at end of day back at peg 1.

Walked the beat with the owner, very helpful but no fish.

Very good section. Owner is a top chap and he gave us some good information. I blanked roving with different baits. S N stuck it out in 4th swim down & was rewarded with 2 barbel the best of 10lb 14oz. His first double ever, fell to pellet.

River high and only able to fish around the area of the stream mouth. One pike caught of approximately 10-11lbs. A nice day out regardless and good advice provided as always, catch return probably not surprising considering the conditions and the fact that the river continued rising steadily during the day.

-4 when I arrived but still managed 1 small Pike to the lure. Always a pleasure to fish this beautiful river. Will be back again soon for the bigger ones hopefully.

Super day on the River Wye, fished dawn till dusk for pike but had no runs. Will return hope to get a bend in the rod next time. Thanks Wuf.
