Second day on courtfield fished by the manhole cover in the field, managed to park the car by the woods, then the nightmare started, the path through to legg meadow was so overgrown with brambles etc it was horrendous. I thought the pegs above the manhole cover looked dangerous and steep , I never had bite which made it worse, I don’t mind blanking that’s fishing but maybe the paths should be cut back

Only my second time fishing the wye, wasn’t happy parking by the pumping station due to signs on the fence saying don’t park there, parked at lydbrook and managed to find a way down to the river, water was low and fishing dissapointing as I could only catch eels

Sign that river was polluted by agricultural sewage a few days before - why were we allowed to purchase a ticket without notice of this?
Fishing Passport Note: The Wye is extremely low at present and is in need of a flush through. However, no reports of pollution incidents were received in the days prior to this booking. On the day of the booking, 14 chub were caught on the beat immediately downstream, with 9 Barbel and 3 Chub the day before that, and 6 Barbel and 6 Chub two days before.

Fished the wooded area hoping to find a bit of streamy water and shade from the sun, morning session 6-10 am produced nothing, returned later in the afternoon and a double blank looked likely untill a nice Barbel of 8 lbs 12 oz saved the day at the last moment.Had a look around
Legge meadow with a view to fish there but found most of the swims were getting overgrown .Probably will not book this beat again as its looking a bit neglected and also the opposite bank has better access.
