With low water only one fishable swim in the Meadow. Settled into the wooded area. Plenty of weed coming through. Heavy rains made fishing difficult. Not fishing like we know it to in the past. Two anglers, 1 barbel apiece. That's how is is sometimes.

Only fished a few hours in the morning and evening in the end, as fishing was very slow in the low water conditions. Rob took a brace of 7s fishing the streamiest water available, late in the day.

Booked for 5 but only 4 fished. Unfortunately too hot, too bright, water too low and too many canoes. Not to mention the wild swimmers. At times it was like a circus. Not a touch all day but then 3 barbel between us at the last knockings. We know that in the right conditions Courtfield can produce good sport but the beat owner doesn't appear to make much of an effort. No one is asking for manicured banks but it wouldn't harm to strip the access path and the amount of litter in the woods section is a disgrace. There are much more pleasant places to fish on the Wye where you won't see a bit of trash. A clean up is needed.

This return and the one before it are for 2 anglers CT and PH. Gin clear river - needs some water badly. Least number of canoes day yet on the lower Wye. no more than a dozen or so canoes all day. Extremely tough day here at Courtfield. The only take/bite all day was 1 eel which fell to CT on the meat

Very difficult day the weather was warm and very bright so not ideal but moved swims regularly to try and locate the fish. There was also a lot of weed coming through. People have mentioned a large amount of canoe traffic but we had light traffic and all of the people were polite and courteous and moved over i didnt see any problems at all. We finished with 1 barbel around 6lb. All the fish caught over the 2 days were in excellent condition.

Booking Office Note: Canoes do tend to be less frequent this time of year - generally when it's cooler weather!

Fished the Courtfield section today. Weather was warm and sunny good day 4 barbel caught all around the 5lb mark and one chub around 4lb. Standard feeder tactics used and moved swims regular throughout the day. It is worth mentioning that the stretch is very overgrown especially the "meadow" which resembles more of a jungle. swims can be difficult to access. The wood section is very snaggy as described on other posts.
