Productive few hours fishing the wooded section. Barbel to nearly 9lb, a chub and an eel falling to pellet fished on running lead rigs. Great beat, all fish in fantastic fighting fit condition. Back in the autumn.

Tough going...really really tough. Chub and eels far bank from wooded section. Not my favourite stretch and annoyed to see litter strewn down the woodland by the anglers parking areas.

Great day out and barbel fed most of the day. The river was still low after all the rain.

Conditions looked good but the only bite of the day was from a small barbel (less than 2lb) which was snatched by a pike before I could net it. Perhaps the presence of the Pike explains the lack of bites.

River up a bit from the previous week. Weather very warm and unrelentingly sunny (despite towering clouds to east and west). Fishing in the woodland, I started at around 16.00, but not a touch until 20.00, when the first bite resulted in a barbel of 7-8. Quiet again until 21.00 when I had three fish on before close of play. Unfortunately two were lost when the hook link was broken on the numerous sharp rocks. However the final bite brought a good fish of 8-14, so I left with a smile on my face.

Not easy fishing as the river was dropping after the higher water. Need to move around to find the barbel.

Arrived to find the river a bit higher than summer levels but not as high as expected after the recent rain, settled in the woods, I had 5 barbel including my first ever double at 10.6 lb CH had 2. 3 of the barbel were below 2 LB so good to see, all caught on barbel blitz pellett
