Had a fabulous day, first time fishing the Usk, river could do with some more water, didn’t see any, didn’t catch any, but it felt fishy ???????? will be back.

Saw nothing, touched nothing, it wasn't the greatest day for the catching fish part of fishing as it was a lovely early autumn bright day with low clear water, but it still beat staying in the office where I would have been looking at spreadsheets all afternoon.

Plenty coming to the surface downstream of Chainbridge road bridge, didn't see any upstream.

River low'ish at 500mm. I heard one big splosh which had to be a salmon, but otherwise no sightings, other than kingfishers and herons. Thanks for the improvements to the bankside path opposite the caravan park, and for new natural platform at the Oak pool.

Water .52m and clear so opted for trout. I landed a beauty in woodstream at 6pm taken on dry deer hair sedge.
Fish weighed just short of 2lb. Very little activity other than this but salmon showed under the wires and at the rock.
John missed one trout in similar place on woodstream again on sedge. No further fish by nightfall after a disappointing rise at dusk.

Any excuse to stand and cool off in a beautiful river in 30 degree heat... One tiddler and one really nice one pound plus trout both at the top end of the beat.

Bright day, some cloud and intermittent breeze. On the water from 2 pm to 6 pm One tiddler - but nothing else and no significant activity. Lovely spot and on another day has the feel that there are fish to be caught.

The perfect day for salmon, with water .775m and slightly coloured. Hooked 2 nice trout on spinner throughout the early afternoon around half pound each then hooked and landed a cock salmon of 7lb in pool above bridge.
John landed two trout of one and quarter pound each on fly in woodstream
