Sat 24 June a.m. was disappointing as we had bites but not many real takes and caught just 1 Chub. We had been using feeders & PVA bag with pellet on the hook. We reviewed our method for the afternoon session and decided to just fish a pellet on the hook with no feeder or PVA and started to catch immediately at regular intervals, 6 Barbel to 6 lb 7 oz and 5 Chub to +4 lb. A good looking easy to fish beat and we look forward to going back.

River low and brown colour which was odd as no rain for ages.
Conditions not a great after hot weather, bit cooler and overcast with wind. Dosh caught on pellets. Pegs either side of row of trees, other pegs tried but no fish.

Another scorching day - fish caught through the day in shaded swims, really came on later as the sun lost a bit of strength. Resulting in one of the best hours fishing I have had - 5 casts, 3 barbel, 1 eel! A lovely stretch with well looked after swims. All fish in excellent condition as always. Be careful parking though - you could lose a sump!

Wow, what a stunning stretch of the Wye, easy access as a bonus too. Early start was in order as the forecast was 28 degrees by lunchtime, not ideal barbel fishing conditions. River was still carrying a good bit of colour and fast water under our feet meant only a short cast was needed.
Stuck with the legered pellet, seven very good barbel to ten pound with a couple of good chub thrown in for variety.
Only fished until noon so we were well delighted with our rewards for the early start. Will definitely be coming back here.

The river looked in good condition, it had fined down and the colour was dropping out. We started at the lower end of the beat for the first couple of hours bit only managed one small chub between us. We then moved and settled in to a couple of swims either side of the line of trees that runs down the middle of the field. A 4lb barbel was caught on maggot second cast and a couple of decent chub were lost (cheese paste) within 5 minutes of each other and that was to be it for the day.
