5 barbel up to 6lb one from the top end of the beat five from the tree line no fish from the lower end. All fish caught on pellet. Fishing was limited due to match on opposite bank.

Once again conditions looked great but fishing was tough - nevertheless 2 very good pike both over 20lbs taken - a barbel of 9lbs and 4 chub in the 1-2 lbs range.

With Heavy rain the night before we feared the worse for our second day at How Caple Court fishery. Thankfully we found the river to be in better condition than our previous day at Lower Ballingham. How Caple Court is a wonderful location and beautiful stretch of the river Wye.
We did our usual by walking the venue first and the nice thing we found about this stretch was there were swims which had steps down leading down to the swims unlike Lower Ballingham were we found nice spots to fish but were to dangerous to attempt to get near the water.
Phil found a swim close to the tree line where we had walked in from. I fished at the lower end where I had found some slow glides for me to trot a float through. I was in heaven feeding caster and maggots I finished the day with four quality chub including a PB of 6lb 12oz, along with a 5.4 4.10 and 3lb. I also caught better quality dace and small chublets and last fish of the day was a small roach.
Phil also had a great days fishing he managed one barbel from the first swim of 4lb and later in the day moved to a swim above the tree line and caught a further 3 barbel of 7,5 and 2, all on pellet.
I just didn't want to pack up it was one of the most memorable days fishing I have ever had, the venue is stunning and I really cant wait to go back.

5 barbel to low 9lb's and 3 chub, one of which was a cracking specimen, a tick under 6lb. All on pellet.
couple of things to mention: had an otter going after fish (and catching from what I could see) in several swims which I hope does not signal predation of the stock in the area, and had ''words'' with anglers on the opposite bank who were casting across the river into several of the fishable(prepared) swims on our bank that we expected to be able to fish. Not the first time its happened. Needs sorting out with whoever runs fishery on the opposite bank.

4 barbel from 6lb to 8 lb landed on pellet. A few chub out as well in the 2-4 lb size. River conditions close to perfect with plenty of colour in the water, a fair old push coming through, mild, low pressure. Should have done better but getting bait presentation right is always trial and error, mine being more of the latter....

Started fishing at 9.15am - 1 barbel on my third cast. JT lost 3 fish in 5 casts so decided to bait the swim and give it a rest. We thought we were in for a good day but not to be. After that it was a real struggle. We fished plenty of other swims and I managed to catch 2 chub. I probably could have caught more but I was fishing too heavy and losing a lot of meat to small tugs. LAZY I think. Spoke to a lady walking her dog and she said that there was a pheasant shoot on Saturday. 800 bangs, did that make a difference?

Arrived at the river to find it running clear and two feet down from my last visit. 1 chub and 1 barbel by 1230hrs, nothing else until arouind 1630hrs then 3 more barbel, best one going to 9lbs. A great day out, thanks

4 small chub on meat, no indication of barbel - pleasent day.

First Wye Barbel caught at 6lbs 9oz. Fought well in the current and in excellent condition. Only bite of the day and fell to pellet in conjuction with a groundbait feeder. Father in law caught a Dace a cast and had a nice Chub to finish the day. Weed became a problem during the day which forced us to fish close in. We will be back to fish the Wye again!

We arrived to the river to find it was in good condition. 1 x 4lbs barbel and 1 x 3lbs chub in the morning. My friend K.T. had 8 barbel between 3 to 7lbs at around 3pm. I had another 7 barbel after 6pm, the last 4 fish over 7lbs.
A great day. I got broken by something really big, our guess was a big carp. A lovely strech of the Wye, hard going but best early morning and during the last 2 hours when the big barbel came out on a feeding frenzy. We will be back.
